atNorth Acquires Gompute, Expanding Presence in the Nordics

atNorth, a Nordic service provider specializing in colocation, high-performance computing, and artificial intelligence, announced today its acquisition of Gompute, a provider of High Performance Computing (HPC) and data center services. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

atNorth, founded in 2010, is based in Reykjavik, Iceland. The company has 76 employees listed on LinkedIn. atNorth’s areas of expertise include HPC, Colocation, Dedicated Servers, HPC Cloud, High Performance Computing, Data Center, Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, Hosting, HPCaaS, Hybrid HPC, AI, Artificial Intelligence, Hyperscale, sustainability, and renewable energy.

Gompute, founded in 2002, is based in Sweden. The company has eight employees listed on LinkedIn. Gompute’s areas of expertise include HPC cloud computing, HPC software stack, Colocation, and High Performance Computing.

As part of the acquisition agreement, atNorth says it will incorporate Gompute’s Gothenburg, Sweden data center, which has a potential capacity of 10MW, into its current operations. This move is expected to solidify atNorth’s presence in the rapidly growing HPC market. 

The merging of Gompute’s HPC technology, its team of engineers, and its customer base with atNorth’s HPC-as-a-service and colocation platform aims to offer customers a comprehensive HPC and AI workload solution throughout the Nordic region, according to the company.
