Nigerian data center, cloud, and connectivity companies were the big winners at the 7th annual Tech Innovation Awards (TIA), held at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria.
The TIA is the most esteemed accolade in the Nigerian ICT space, celebrating organizations, governments, and individuals that have distinguished themselves over the years and are at the forefront of digitization with innovative products and services.
Stakeholders in the industry that won the awards include: Medallion Data Centers (Data Center Leadership Award), Infobip (Innovative Cloud Communications Provider of the Year), Liquid Intelligent Technologies (Emerging Enterprise Connectivity Provider), TerragonPrime (Best Cloud-Based Product of the Year), Avanti Communications(Satellite Company of the Year) and Huawei (Network Infrastructure Provider of the Year).
Other winners include Open Access Data Centers (Innovative Emerging Data Center), ICSL (Innovative Connectivity Provider of the Year), Broadbased Communications (Wholesale Open Access Provider of the Year and Metropolis Fiber Infrastructure Provider of the Year), Unitellas (Cloud Infrastructure Provider of the Year) and HIS (Telecoms Infrastructure Company of the Year).
Some industry personalities also received recognition for their outstanding commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology in Nigeria. Some of these include Ayotunde (Tunde) Coker, CEO of Open Access Data Centres (OADC), who was recognised as the Data Center Personality of the Year; Ikechukwu Nnamani, CEO of Medallion Data Centers, who received the Data Center Lifetime Achievement Award, Temitope Osunrinde, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Tizeti, recognised as Tech Marketing Personality of the Year, and Reuben Oshomah, West Africa Regional Director, Avanti who was recognised as the Satellite Personality of the Year.
