Following the launch of its Dabengwa Sifiso Tier III data center, MTN Nigeria has unveiled its first-ever public cloud platform, marking a historic milestone in its digital transformation journey and positioning the telecom giant as a frontrunner in Africa’s cloud ecosystem.
“This is a monumental day for MTN Nigeria,” said Okoli Anayochukwu Irene, Infrastructure Program Manager at MTN.” Today, we celebrate the successful delivery of the first-ever MTN Cloud Platform in Nigeria! This wasn’t just a project; it was a vision, a challenge, and a testament to what we can achieve when we work together.”
Built entirely in Nigeria, the platform offers full self-service capabilities and Naira billing, enabling local enterprises to adopt cloud services without foreign exchange hurdles while ensuring data sovereignty compliance.

“This is just the beginning. The future of MTN Nigeria is now even brighter, powered by our very own cloud,” she added.
MTN executives say the launch will revolutionize operations, enhance customer experiences, and drive efficiency and scalability across services. Roger Shutte, General Manager, Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering at MTN, said, “This is not just a technical win. It is a bold statement about where we are headed.”
Industry analysts view the launch as a strategic step to meet Nigeria’s rising enterprise demand for local cloud solutions, especially as AI, fintech, and data-intensive applications grow.
The Dabengwa Sifiso Data Center currently delivers 4.5MW of IT load with 780 racks, and is expected to double capacity to 9MW while upgrading its certification to Tier IV under Uptime Institute’s Tier Certification of Constructed Facility (TCCF).
