WiTechAfrica partners EQL: HER to empower women at Africa Tech Festival 2024

WiTechAfrica, a platform dedicated to promoting diversity, innovation, and excellence in the telecommunications and data center industry announced its partnership with EQL:HER, a global network for women in technology as a co-host for the EQL:Lounge at the Africa Tech Festival, taking place next week, November 12-14, 2024, in South Africa. WiTechAfrica will also be supporting InspiringFifty Africa, an initiative that recognizes 50 remarkable women making significant contributions in technology. The winners of the initiative will announced on Sunday, November 10, during the side lines of the festival. 

EQL:HER is a global network and event series dedicated to achieving gender balance in the technology sector, ensuring that women have a more inclusive and equitable future across all industries. The EQL:Lounge will serve as a vital space within the festival, designed to empower women and their allies in the tech ecosystem.

Guests at the EQL: Lounge will benefit from 

• Content: Participants will learn from industry leaders and successful entrepreneurs through engaging discussions that focus on key topics such as funding strategies, open innovation, and talent empowerment. 

• Morning Meditation: On Wednesday and Thursday, each day will kick off with guided meditation sessions, allowing participants to center themselves and foster mental well-being amid the festival’s bustling activities.

• Workshops: Tailored workshops for female founders will equip attendees with essential skills in business strategy, leadership development, hiring, coding, and other key areas to support both personal and professional growth.

• Networking Opportunities: The Lounge will host Power Hour Networking Sessions, providing a platform for women, founders, and investors to connect, share experiences, and explore collaboration opportunities.

WiTechAfrica will also facilitate a session on the topic of Founders, Funding, and Investment in African Tech, which will guide startups on how to secure the right connections with mentors, investors, and accelerators to drive growth and impact.
