Orange has expanded its superfast broadband connectivity solutions with the “Orange Satellite with Nordnet” offer, launched today, November 16, 2023. This offering, available to customers in mainland France, now incorporates satellite technology into its mix, alongside existing options like fibre, ADSL, and 4G/5G Home and provides customers in mainland France with superfast broadband, for €49.99 a month.
The new satellite offer specifically targets customers ineligible for fibre and those experiencing ADSL speeds of less than 8Mbps. Marketed through Orange distribution channels, it is operated by Nordnet.
Jean-François Fallacher, Executive Vice President and CEO of Orange France, stated, “The launch of Orange Satellite with Nordnet is another step towards the deployment of superfast broadband for everyone, everywhere in mainland France. Orange is proud to be able to offer all customers a superfast broadband access solution thanks to technology mix. Our range of connectivity offers now includes satellite, in addition to 4G and 5G Home, fibre, and ADSL. This new offer responds to the needs of the French population, whatever their connectivity requirements, even in the most remote areas.”
This initiative aligns with the French government’s Cohésion Numérique des Territoires (Digital Cohesion of Regions) program, contributing to the government’s goal of ensuring access to high speed broadband (greater than 30 Mbps) for all by 2025.
This new satellite offering is believed to combine the expertise of the French and European space industry, and is offered off Konnect VHTS satellite architected by Eutelsat, the 3rd largest satellite operator by revenue.
