Vertiv introduces advanced power solutions for data centers

As global electricity demand from data centers is expected to double by 2026, driven by AI and HPC, robust backup power solutions are essential. To address these challenges, Vertiv (NYSE: VRT) has introduced the Vertiv™️ Trinergy™️, an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) designed to handle fluctuating data center loads, and Vertiv™️ PowerNexus, an integrated solution providing space-saving close coupling of the UPS and system switchgear. Both solutions are available globally.

The Vertiv Trinergy UPS is available in 1500, 2000, and 2500 kVA capacities. It exceeds Tier IV data center power chain availability with 99.9999998% projected uptime, featuring a modular architecture with 500kW segregated cores, each operating independently. It offers extended backup time configurations and an innovative self-isolating core design. With double conversion efficiency up to 97.1%, increasing to 99% with Dynamic Online mode, it is compatible with various energy sources, including lithium-ion, nickel-zinc batteries, fuel cells, and long-duration batteries (BESS).

The Vertiv PowerNexus integrates Vertiv Trinergy UPS with Vertiv™️ PowerBoard Switchgear, reducing cabling materials, installation time, and costs. It provides flexibility with onsite integration, power skid, or enclosure options and is enhanced with Vertiv™️EPMS for better visibility and reliability.

“High-capacity power in a highly reliable system design is critical for data-intensive AI and HPC applications,” stated Kyle Keeper, SVP of power management global business unit at Vertiv. “Leveraging over 40 years of innovation, Vertiv™️ Trinergy™️ UPS offers the resilience essential for operations to become future-ready and to support AI loads. It delivers the flexibility required to adapt to various AI applications and is designed to integrate seamlessly with different prime and backup power sources, lithium-ion and nickel-zinc batteries, and alternative distributed energy sources, including fuel cells and long duration batteries (BESS).”

Vertiv’s project and lifecycle services portfolio includes advanced incident management and condition-based maintenance analytics. The Vertiv™️ DynaFlex Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) leverages alternative energy sources, and the Dynamic Grid Support feature provides energy saving and revenue generation.

These innovations by Vertiv aim to ensure continuous availability and efficient power management for data centers, supporting the growing demands of AI and HPC applications.
