Abuja, Nigeria — 19th October, 2026.
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), will convene an Executive Regulatory Dialogue on 28 October 2026 in Lagos to advance the implementation of the National Sovereign Cloud Initiative (NSCI) within Nigeria’s financial sector.
The high-level dialogue will bring together regulators, financial institutions, fintech companies and digital infrastructure providers to discuss regulatory expectations, domestic infrastructure readiness and practical approaches to data localisation and sovereign cloud adoption.
The engagement is intended to strengthen coordination between regulators and industry, identify implementation challenges and explore pathways that balance data sovereignty, security, operational resilience and the continued growth of Nigeria’s digital economy.

Discussions will be informed by industry feedback and structured engagements, with particular attention to workload classification, regulatory compliance, infrastructure capacity and investment opportunities.
The dialogue is expected to identify priority actions, areas requiring further regulatory clarification and opportunities for collaboration towards a coordinated, practical and phased implementation of the NSCI.
Through this engagement, NITDA and CBN reaffirm their commitment to working with relevant stakeholders to strengthen Nigeria’s digital infrastructure ecosystem while supporting innovation, financial sector resilience and sustainable investment.
