MTN Group is pleased to announce key leadership changes designed to strengthen succession planning, enhance operational execution, and drive the advancement of the Ambition 2025 strategy.
Bayobab, a subsidiary of MTN, has appointed Mazen Mroué as CEO of MTN Digital Infrastructure. In this role, Mroué will lead Bayobab’s Fixed Infrastructure and Communication Platforms business units while advancing the company’s Data Centre Business Strategy to ensure sustained growth and profitability.
Mroué brings extensive expertise and visionary leadership to the role, particularly as Bayobab continues to focus on driving innovation and expanding its footprint across Africa. His appointment aligns with the company’s mission to support AI development and establish new industry benchmarks in digital infrastructure.
Mroué’s experience within the MTN Group includes roles as Group Chief Technology and Information Officer, Non-Executive Director and Board Member of Memo Payment Service Bank, Executive Board Member of MTN Foundation, Chief Operating Officer for MTN Nigeria and UAE, CEO of MTN Uganda and Liberia, and Chief Enterprise Business Officer at MTN Ghana.
This appointment marks a significant step in Bayobab’s efforts to expand its impact across the continent and further its transformative strategies in the digital infrastructure sector.
