With Nigeria’s telecom landscape on the cusp of major transformation following the licensing of 43 new Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), Africa Hyperscalers will host a high-level executive breakfast session in Lagos on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, to chart the course for MVNO success, competition, and collaboration.

Themed “MVNO Nigeria 2025: Unlocking Growth, Competition & Connectivity,” the session will bring together top executives from licensed MVNOs, mobile network operators (MNOs), regulators, technology providers, and global experts. It aims to provide strategic clarity on the MVNO opportunity in Nigeria, while surfacing the operational realities, partnerships, and policy shifts required to unlock real market traction.

Central to the dialogue will be a deep dive into the NCC’s MVNO licensing framework, including compliance expectations and a candid examination of the frictions that exist between MVNOs and their host network providers. Speakers will explore how stronger collaboration between MVNOs, MNOs, and digital infrastructure operators can drive connectivity, lower costs, and expand service innovation across Nigeria.

The session will also spotlight actionable solutions to address underserved segments of the market, ranging from rural broadband, fintech inclusion, and enterprise connectivity to the untapped potential of IoT services. Attendees will learn from international MVNO case studies showcasing how focused execution, differentiation, and value-added partnerships have driven profitability and scale in other markets.

Confirmed speakers include Tony Emoekpere, President of the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON); Dr. Ayotunde Coker, CEO of Open Access Data Centres; Olusola Teniola, Director, Strategic Business Initiatives, ipNX, and Ayo Oladejo, Managing Partner at DigiPractice.

“This is not just another industry event – it’s a working session and a strategic convening of the minds driving the next wave of connectivity in Nigeria. Aside from licenses, MVNOs in Nigeria need trust, clarity, and alignment with host operators, regulators, funders, and partners. This forum is designed to solve, not just to speak” – Africa Hyperscalers.

The event will feature keynote addresses, an expert panel, and closed-door conversations designed to foster partnership-building, regulatory understanding, and market readiness. It is expected to shape how MVNOs position themselves for sustainable growth and long-term value creation in one of Africa’s most dynamic telecom markets. The event will also offer ample networking opportunities for stakeholders to forge partnerships, align on policy directions, and learn from pioneers in the global MVNO ecosystem.
