Orange Maroc has launched a new 1.5MW data center in Casablanca, calling it the company’s largest African facility and a key milestone for Morocco’s digital-sovereignty agenda.
“Orange Morocco is taking a new step in its commitment to the kingdom’s digital sovereignty with the inauguration of its next-generation Orange Tech Data Center,” the company said.

The site includes more than 1,000 solar panels, though full technical specifications were not released. The opening expands Orange’s Moroccan footprint, which includes DC1 and DC2 in Casablanca, DC3 in Rabat, and DC4 in Tangier.

Orange operates roughly 75 data centers across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. While the group has signaled interest in opening more sites to third-party tenants, it has stressed that its strategy is “not to sell these assets for cash.” Reports nevertheless suggest Orange may consider selling a stake in some French facilities.
