Africa Hyperscalers to host International Women’s Day Session on digital infrastructure leadership

Africa Hyperscalers will host an International Women’s Day (IWD) session on March 13, 2026, bringing together industry leaders to discuss how collaboration and inclusive leadership can strengthen Africa’s rapidly expanding digital infrastructure sector.

The session, themed “Give to Gain – Building Africa’s Digital Infrastructure Together,” will explore how mentorship, sponsorship, and ecosystem partnerships can expand opportunities for women across the continent’s connectivity, cloud, data center, and policy landscape.

The virtual event will feature senior leaders from across the digital infrastructure ecosystem, including Adesola Adesugba, Country Marketing Manager, WIOCC Group; Sade Dada, Head of Public Policy, Anglophone West Africa, Meta; Ayomide Jones, EMEA Business Development Manager, West Africa, Equinix; Gbemisola Osunrinde, Chief Executive Officer, Smartcomply; Jane Egerton-Idehen, Chief Executive Officer, NIGCOMSAT; and Fatumata Soukouna Coker, Co-Founder and Chair, Center for Women & Children Empowerment.

Other speakers include Ayotunde Coker, Chief Executive Officer, Open Access Data Centres; Wole Abu, Managing Director, Equinix West Africa; Gbenga Olabiyi, Managing Director, Dimension Data Nigeria; Kendall Ananyi, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Tizeti; and Temitope Osunrinde, Director, Africa Hyperscalers.

Organisers say the webinar aims to highlight the growing role women already play across Africa’s digital infrastructure industry while encouraging stronger collaboration between companies, policymakers, and investors to build a more inclusive leadership pipeline.

While Africa’s digital infrastructure market, spanning data centers, fiber networks, cloud platforms, and satellite connectivity, has grown rapidly in recent years, leadership roles across the sector remain predominantly male. The programme will also include a special discussion involving male industry leaders reflecting on how allies can support women’s advancement within infrastructure organisations and across the broader technology ecosystem.

The session will examine practical ways organisations can move beyond symbolic support to active sponsorship and structural inclusion, ahead of the release of Africa Hyperscalers’ pan-African Women in Digital Infrastructure Report.

According to Africa Hyperscalers, the event forms part of a broader effort to foster dialogue around the people, partnerships, and policy frameworks needed to accelerate the continent’s digital infrastructure development.

Registration for the March 13 virtual session is open to participants across Africa’s technology, telecom, policy, and investment communities.
