Equinix expands Data Center footprint in Cote d’Ivoire

Leading provider of connectivity and data center solutions in West Africa, MainOne (an Equinix Company), has announced the expansion of its open-access, carrier-neutral Data Center, AB1.2, in the country’s ICT hub, VITIB in Grand Bassam, Cote d’Ivoire.

In a statement, the company states that its expansion is focused on addressing the growing demand for data centers in Cote d’Ivoire.

Speaking on the expansion and the upcoming launch, the Country Manager for MainOne in Cote dÍvoire, Etienne Kouadio Doh, “With the launch of our new data center in Cote d’Ivoire, we are entering an exciting phase of transformation for businesses. It offers a significant opportunity to welcome more customers into our thriving digital ecosystem, connecting them to major digital players in the region and providing 100% uptime connectivity to the internet. We anticipate that this state-of-the-art facility will become a catalyst for digital innovation, offering a robust infrastructure for enterprises to thrive and further establishing Cote d’Ivoire as the digital hub for the Francophone West African region.”

This expansion, the statement says, presents an opportunity to accommodate more customers in Cote d’Ivoire, providing them with a range of enterprise-grade digital solutions and access to global services and internet exchanges, including the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX) hosted at the data center. The state-of-the-art infrastructure will incorporate advanced security systems, cutting-edge technologies, global certifications, in-country expert support, and the region’s largest interconnected ecosystem to ensure peak performance. Following MainOne’s acquisition by Equinix, customers can now access over 240 data centers in 32 countries worldwide through secure and dedicated interconnection services at their data center via Platform Equinix.
