Airtel Kenya is gearing up for substantial network expansion across the country in 2024, with plans to construct up to 1,000 new network sites while increasing its 5G network coverage from 450 to 600 sites.

As reported by Business Daily, the Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Kenya, Ashish Malhotra, highlighted the telecom company’s commitment to enhancing its customer base through strategic investments. The expansion initiative aims to make network services more accessible and affordable, aligning with the company’s goal of providing convenient services to a broader audience.

As part of this ambitious plan, Airtel Kenya is set to increase its 5G network coverage from 450 to 600 sites, channeling investments exceeding KES 23 billion into the network expansion drive. The focus on 5G expansion aligns with the growing demand for high-speed and reliable connectivity. In a related effort to enhance customer service accessibility, Airtel Kenya recently inaugurated its 66th Airtel Customer Care shop, located at the Greenwood City Mall in Meru County. This move underscores Airtel’s commitment to increasing its service footprint, making customer care more accessible and responsive to customer needs.

Meanwhile, on a broader scale, Airtel Africa celebrated a significant milestone by reaching 150 million customers.
