Leading data center and connectivity operators from across Africa have been announced as finalists for the esteemed Africa Tech Festival Awards. This prestigious event, celebrating innovation, inclusion, and sustainability in Africa’s thriving tech industry, is set to host a formal gala dinner at the iconic Bay Hotel in Cape Town on November 15, 2023.
The selected nominees represent the pinnacle of excellence and commitment within the data center, cloud, and connectivity sector. These awards honor individuals and companies who have made remarkable contributions to the tech industry in Africa and beyond.
Connectivity operators shortlisted for the Connectivity For All Award include Avanti Communications, Google Equiano, Airtel, Angola Cables and TooMuchWifi. TheConnectivity For All Award acknowledges network providers and services that have demonstrated exceptional commitment and effort in ensuring widespread connectivity.
WIOCC Group, MTN Uganda, Vodacom’s ‘Virtual Wheeling Project’, Safaricom PLC’s ‘Hustler Fund’ and Orange Cameroon have been shortlisted for the Innovation for Impact Award, which recognizes innovations of products or services that have disrupted traditional approaches, introduced novel solutions, and created tangible value for businesses and individuals in Africa.
For the Sustainability Champion of the Year Award, fomerly known as the “Green ICT Champion Award,” and celebrates individuals or organizations leading the way in the development and integration of sustainable energy solutions, Rack Centre, Raxio Data Center, Solarise Africa, Orange Middle East & Africa and Axian Telecom are the nominees.
