Finnfund has appointed Susan Mbatia as Senior Investment Manager in its Digital Infrastructure and Solutionsteam, strengthening its investment capacity in one of the fastest-growing segments of emerging-market finance. She will be based in Finnfund’s Nairobi office, focusing on profitable, high-impact businesses across the digital value chain.
Ms. Mbatia joins Finnfund from iColo, a Digital Realty company, where she served as Director of Corporate Development. In that role, she worked on strategy, partnerships, and expansion initiatives tied to carrier-neutral data centers and cloud on-ramps across East and Southern Africa, during a period of accelerating enterprise and hyperscaler demand.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Mbatia held investment and advisory roles spanning private equity, infrastructure finance, and strategy, with experience evaluating growth platforms in telecommunications, energy, and technology-enabled services across Africa. Her background combines transaction execution with operational exposure to scaling infrastructure-led businesses in frontier and emerging markets.
