Two of Africa’s rising data center operators are teaming up to strengthen the continent’s digital backbone. Nairobi-based iXAfrica Data Centres and Johannesburg’s Digital Parks Africa are harmonizing a strategic partnership that will give enterprises and multinationals seamless access to both Kenya and South Africa through a single integrated platform.
The collaboration allows DPA clients to tap into iXAfrica’s Nairobi campus – home to a fast-growing mix of fiber networks and cloud providers – while iXAfrica customers gain access to DPA’s established facilities in South Africa. Executives said the deal will simplify cross-border expansion and deliver consistent service standards across two of Africa’s most important digital hubs.

“This partnership is about building bridges across Africa’s digital economy,” said Snehar Shah, Chief Executive Officer of iXAfrica. “By aligning with DPA, we are giving customers the confidence to expand seamlessly across borders with the same reliability, efficiency, and resilience they expect in global markets.”
Wiaan Vermaak, group Chief Commercial Officer at Digital Parks Africa, said the move reflects a long-term vision. “Together, we are ensuring that Africa is not just consuming technology, but actively shaping its digital future,” he said.
Industry analysts say the agreement underscores the truth that sovereignty does not mean isolation. Africa’s path to digital independence depends on regional collaboration – harmonizing rules, pooling infrastructure, and scaling compute capacity and this integration across East and Southern Africa will build a competitive digital economy anchored by resilient data hubs.
