Space in Africa has concluded plans host its 3rd ediiton of the NewSpace Africa conference, this year in Luanda, Angola, in collaboration with the African Union Commission and the Angola National Space Programme Management Office.
The conference will hold between April 2nd and 5th, 2024, and will bring together decision-makers, government officials, industry leaders, NewSpace companies, and stakeholders from various segments of the African space industry.
The conference, themed “The Role of Space in Closing Africa’s Poverty Gap,” will emphasize the transformative potential of space initiatives in addressing socioeconomic disparities across the continent. It will serve as a platform to discuss the best approaches to leveraging space technology, including satellite communications, remote sensing, and geospatial data, to revolutionize sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, climate change, security, and infrastructure development.
Key participants will include representatives from the African Union Commission, policymakers, government officials, national ministries of science and technology, leaders of national space agencies, NewSpace companies, satellite manufacturers and operators, venture capitalists, angel investors, African tech hubs, and delegates from Earth observation and satellite communication organizations globally.

The conference aims to promote technological advancements and innovations in the African space sector on a global stage, inviting foreign investments into various segments of the African space industry. It seeks to create collaborations, strengthen existing partnerships, explore new markets, and identify challenges hindering the growth of the African NewSpace ecosystem.
The NewSpace Africa Conference 2024 will feature operational topics on policies, research, trends, future outlooks, and all segments of the African space and satellite industry. Additionally, the event will include networking opportunities, interactive sessions, B2B, B2C, B2G matchmaking, side events, exhibitions, and selected keynotes.
The previous edition of the conference in 2023 gathered 400 delegates from over 190 organizations across 54 countries. Early-bird registration is open until December 31, 2023, and regular registration is available until March 31, 2024.
Space in Africa is a leading analytics and consulting company in the space sector, focusing on both institutional and commercial markets with a particular emphasis on Africa. The African Union Commission (AUC) serves as the executive/administrative branch or secretariat of the African Union, dealing with various areas of policy. The Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication in Angola oversees the National Space Programme Management Office and is involved in promoting the peaceful use of space in the country.
