TouchNet and iXAfrica Data Centres have partnered to launch the Zadara AI Sovereign Cloud in Kenya, marking a significant milestone in the country’s digital infrastructure evolution.
The enterprise-grade cloud solution, hosted at iXAfrica’s Nairobi One (NBOX1) hyperscale campus, is designed to meet the growing demand for local, secure, and AI-ready cloud infrastructure. This marks Zadara’s first deployment in Kenya, following successful implementations in other African markets.
TouchNet, originally founded as a business-to-business ISP, has evolved into a leader in cloud and digital transformation. Over the past 15 years, it has delivered cloud services and commercial models tailored to over 300 business clients, carriers, managed service providers (MSPs), cloud service providers (CSPs), and data center operators across the continent.
“The launch of this AI-driven cloud solution with TouchNet, Zadara, and iXAfrica Data Centre is more than just a technological advancement – it’s about enabling businesses to operate with greater control, security, and efficiency,” said Charly Bahous, CEO of TouchNet. “Through the partnerships in Kenya, we are committed to providing local enterprises with agile, fit-for-purpose, and fit-for-market solutions, along with the tools and support they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.”

The Zadara AI Sovereign Cloud will deliver compute, networking, storage, and GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS), all within a secure, high-performance environment. Fully hosted in-country and managed by a Kenyan service provider, the solution is tailored to enterprises seeking data sovereignty, regulatory compliance, and low-latency performance, without relying on offshore cloud infrastructure.
iXAfrica’s carrier-neutral ecosystem and energy-secure infrastructure provide the backbone for the deployment. The solution also adopts a pay-per-use, operational expenditure (OPEX) model, allowing companies to scale without upfront capital investments.
“This partnership ensures energy security, uptime reliability, localized expertise, and 24/7 support – all critical factors for enterprises operating in today’s digital economy,” said Snehar Shah, CEO of iXAfrica. “We’re proud to join forces with TouchNet to deliver a truly world-class, sovereign AI cloud solution right here in Kenya.”
He added, “Enterprises across Kenya are demanding infrastructure that is not only powerful, but also dependable and local. This solution meets that need head-on – delivering security, low latency, and full compliance, all within a framework designed to support real business outcomes.”
Beyond infrastructure, the partnership will offer training and certification programs aimed at upskilling IT professionals and enabling businesses to maximize the value of sovereign cloud services.
The Zadara AI Sovereign Cloud is expected to play a catalytic role in Kenya’s digital transformation, as more enterprises embrace AI-driven workloads and seek infrastructure that combines performance, compliance, and proximity.
